battle of the bands december 200

The increasingly popular Bracknell Battle of the Bands is back on Friday 12th December, at 7pm.

Following the success of August’s open-air competition at ‘Hope in the Park’, the event returns to The Kerith Centre for the third time, and promises to be bigger, better and louder than before.

Previous winners ‘You Burn First’ will be opening the show, while a whole host of other local acts are set to compete for the coveted prize, including Battle of the Bands regulars ‘Ethos’ and Garth Hill College’s ‘Valour’.

Band is Crowned Winner

'Street Fight Silence' were crowned champions of the latest Battle of the Bands held at the Kerith Centre in Bracknell on Friday, 12th December.

Around 250 young people turned out to see nine local bands compete for the coveted prize, with ‘Yesterday’s Tomorrow’ finishing as runners up and ‘Ellie’s Band’ coming third.

Winners ‘Street Fight Silence’ consist of 19 year old Russ Merry (vocals and guitar), and 17 year olds Chris Penfold (bass guitar) and Matt Merry (drums). The Bracknell trio have been playing together for approximately one year, and their infectious brand of pop rock has already seen them gather a strong fanbase.

Other bands on the bill included ‘The Chimes’, ‘Checkerboard’, ‘Valour’, ‘Ethos’, and previous winners ‘You Burn First’. The increasingly popular Battle of the Bands is due to return in summer 2009.
