simon It was the famous Baptist minister, William Carey, who said

‘Expect great things, attempt great things.’

More than 200 years later, we knew that we had to aspire to this.

The reason?

We heard Bono, the lead singer of U2, speak at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit and felt that, through him, God was challenging us to attempt to do something about HIV and AIDS. Initially we had no idea what to do. But through our partnership with Tearfund we settled on trying to make a lasting difference in a district called Serenje in Zambia, by working with the churches and other organisations there. Here is the story of what we’re trying to do.

I’ll leave it for you to decide whether we’re attempting anything ‘great’ as William Carey said. But we’re praying and trusting that God will use this scheme to do great things in the lives of people most of us will never meet. Thank you for taking the time to read about this exciting initiative. I hope you’ll feel inspired to join us on this journey, whether that is through prayer, action or support.
